Calm Consulting was founded with a clear intention: to provide independent support coordination that is free from commercial pressures, billing targets, and conflicts of interest. Our aim has always been to offer advice and guidance that reflects what we would choose ourselves if we were in the position of the people we support. At the core of our work is the principle of acting in good faith, without external obligations shaping our recommendations or decisions.
One of the main reasons for starting Calm Consulting was to create an environment where support coordination could be delivered without the influence of internal billing expectations. In many organisations, staff are required to meet targets that relate to billable hours or productivity levels. While these frameworks may serve a business purpose, they can create unintended pressures that shift the focus away from what is best for participants. At Calm Consulting, we made a deliberate choice not to set billing targets for ourselves or others. This allows us to concentrate fully on what each individual needs, without distraction.
Equally important to us is the principle of independence. We are not linked to any particular service providers or commercial partnerships, and we do not maintain preferred supplier lists. This means our advice is shaped solely by what will best serve the participant’s circumstances. The absence of any financial or organisational ties ensures that we can advocate without hesitation and guide participants toward the most appropriate options available to them.
From the beginning, we have focused on providing support that mirrors what we would want in the same situation. The NDIS environment can be complex and at times overwhelming. We believe participants deserve guidance that is practical, considered, and free from competing interests. Our role is to help people understand their choices and navigate their plans with clarity, always keeping their priorities at the centre of our work.
